The Russian national skating team on Saturday passed negative PCR tests for coronavirus infection and was finally able to show itself at the European Championships in the Netherlands. And it happened – two of our skaters won medals at a distance of 500 meters.

Angelina Golikova won the silver medal on the second day of the European Championship. She lacked only 0.10 seconds to be on the first line, but this place went to the hostess of the tournament, the Dutch woman Femka Kok. Another representative of the Russian national team, Daria Kachanova, climbed the podium. She was 0.25 seconds behind first place, allowing her to win the bronze medal.

Note that the Russian team missed the first day of the competition due to being in quarantine. They ended up in a covid infirmary on January 2, as soon as they arrived in Heerenveen to participate in the European Championship. On Friday, the Russians passed negative tests for COVID-19, and on Saturday morning they received permission to play at the tournament.

The European Championship in the Dutch Heerenveen will end on January 9th. All races are held at the Tialfe Ice Arena.
